You are in a little Fishermen’s Cottage in the Harbour of Mahón, in a neighbourhood of mainly local people.
A 15 minutes’ walk will take you to the nearest supermarket and the nearest restaurants of the harbour. To the town center it takes 20 minutes. The house is built in ‘marès’, the local limestone, therefore it likes to be ventilated. Luckily, Menorca is a very safe island, so that you can leave the windows a little bit open to enable crossed ventilation. Hot water comes from a gas heater, which bottles are in the cave. Should you run out of hot water, simply change the gas bottle. We recommend that you do not leave any food or crumbs, as ants can organize themselves very quickly!
Menorca is well known for the ‘Tramontana’, our North wind, which can be very strong. Please fold the parasol when not using the roof terrace, to keep it from flying away. You can watch local or Satellite TV. You also have a large amount of DVDs available, which you fill find in the cabinet in the living room. There is also a radio-cd player, as well as a Bluetooth speaker to which you can connect your smartphone and listen to your own music. On the ground floor there is a washing machine and cleaning items, and a clothesline on the roof terrace. To lock the main entrance door: push the handle upwards until you can’t push it any further. Then turn the key to lock the door. If the key does not turn, you have not pushed the handle strong enough.
